It's Tee Time - a predictable thing, unlike the PGA Tour.

Fore A Laugh - Joel Dahmen’s Reaction To The Merger 😂

So unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know it has been a pretty crazy week in golf.

The PGA Tour & LIV Golf announced a merger that not even a psychic would have seen coming.

There’s been plenty of reaction but by far my favourite was Joel Dahmen’s. In typical Joel Dahmen fashion he sarcastically took aim at LIV Golf’s team format:

Who knows, one day this sarcastic prediction may actually happen 😂

Talking Point - The Players Reaction To The PGA Tour & LIV 🤯

As mentioned above, a lot of players have had something to say about the PGA Tour & LIV Golf merger. We’ve summarised some of our favourite reactions below:

Rory McIlroy (he still hates LIV):
"The people that left the PGA Tour irreparably harmed this Tour, started litigation against it. We can't just welcome them back in”

"I still hate LIV. I hope it goes away and I would fully expect that it does.

Phil Mickelson (definitely going to wind up a few players):
"Awesome day today"

Brooks Koepka (via Twitter):
"Welfare check on Chamblee"

Dylan Wu (not holding back):
"Tell me why (PGA Tour Commissioner) Jay Monahan basically got a promotion to CEO of all golf in the world by going back on everything he said the past 2 years. The hypocrisy. Wish golf worked like that. I guess money always wins "

Colin Morikawa (short and sweet):
"I love finding out morning news on Twitter"

Michael Kim (He has a point):

"The hell is going on? Very curious how many people knew this deal was happening. About 5-7 people? Player run organization right?"

Unsuprisingly, it seems the LIV Golfers have welcomed the news, whilst they sit counting their money. 🤑

Equipment Round Up - TaylorMade Stealth HD Irons 🤔

Over the last few years we’ve seen more and more club golfers accept help from their equipment. And why shouldn’t they? The aim is to score as low as possible.

The new TaylorMade Stealth HD Irons have been getting great reviews for higher handicappers, we’ve taken a look below 👇

What does the HD stand for? Nope not high definition, but High Draw. These are offset to help high handicappers achieve a better ball flight.

Taylormade Stealth HD Irons

How Do They Look? Firstly let’s address the elephant in the room. These irons are actually a bit similar to an elephant, quite big and clumsy looking. They have quite a short blade height and are very long from heel to toe, making them look slightly different from your regular set of irons.

What about the sound and feel? Although they don’t reallly look like regular irons, they do sound and feel like them. TaylorMade’s ECHO Damping System absorbs the extra vibrations on off-center strikes, helping them achieve this.

Taylormade Stealth HD Irons From Side & Above

Performance? I found the Stealth HD irons extremely forgiving, trikes out of the heel and toe still provided workable ball flights, aswell as any thin shots.

In conclusion, these would be a great set of irons for any high handicapper or beginner golfer. In my opinion far too many golfers discount clubs due to their looks, when in reality, how many people actually notice which clubs you’re using as a high handicapper!

If you’re struggling with your game and thinking about new irons, check these out.

On Tour - Hovland Wins at Muirfield 👏

PGA Tour - Memorial Tournament

It was Jack’s tournament from Muirfield Village last weekend on the PGA Tour. I watched the end with a couple of beers and it was a few hours well spent.

It ended up with a play-off between Denny McCarthy & Victor Hovland, with Victor Hovland running out the eventual winner 🇳🇴.

DP World Tour - Porsche European Open

The DP World Tour went to Germany last weekend and Tom McKibbin ran out a 2 shot winner over Marcel Siem, Maximillian Kieffer and Julien Guerrier.

It was the Northern Irishmen’s first win on the DP World Tour at just 20 years old. Future PGA Tour player? (or LIV Golfer) 🥴

Hole Of The Week - 12th Hole, Whitefield Golf Club, Manchester, England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

This difficult Par 5 (off the white tees) can give anyone who’s not hitting it straight nightmares.

12th Hole, Whitefield Golf Club

With trees running up both sides of the fairway it can be a nightmare for anyone battling a slice or a hook. The fairway runs uphill to the green so make sure you take at least one club more than you think!
