Fore A Laugh - Are you trying to get this back? 🐊

Imagine you've just spend Β£12 on a sleeve of Pro V1s. 3 holes in you're down to your last ball.

You hit a wayward drive, it ends up hereπŸ‘‡

Crocodile's tail on top of golf ball.

Reddit user u/_samwiise found a ball here.

Who's brave enough to try and get it back? Not me 🐊

Talking Point - Golf Ball Changes Incoming πŸ‘€

golf ball

Heard about the proposed rule changes around the golf ball but can't be bothered to read the snooze-fest that is the "Distance Insight Report"? Fear not, my friend, we've got your back!

Here's a quick FAQ on the new golf-ball shenanigans that'll make it easy for you.

Who makes the rules around here?

The United States Golf Association and the R&A are the ones calling the shots.

What's this proposal all about?

They reckon elite golfers are hitting the ball too far and want them to hit it a little shorter to save resources and money.

How much shorter will the pros hit it?

Around five percent shorter, give or take. (Around 15 yards on an average drive)

Does that sound like a big deal?

Not really. The governing bodies don't want to make the change too big or too small.

Who does this rule apply to?

Only players in "elite competitions."

What's "bifurcation," and why does everyone keep saying that word?

It means creating a separate set of rules for pros versus everyday amateurs.

Is that what's happening here?

Basically, yes.

Why is that a big deal?

One of the best things about golf is that everybody plays by the same rules and equipment. This proposal would change that.

Why not change the rules for everybody?

After getting feedback from golfers, they decided to keep things the same for the everyday players.

What if the players keep getting longer?

That's a concern, but for now, this change is only for elite competitions.

What's the deal with courses and this rule change?

Pro events can keep on going at the courses they're already playing, which means less expansion and more resources. However, golf-ball manufacturers won't be too thrilled about having to make a new ball just for pros. Titleist has been the most vocal in their opposition.

There you have it, a quick and easy rundown on the proposed golf-ball rule changes. It should never effect 99% of us but still good to know!

Equipment Round Up - Taylormade Stealth 2 Driver Review πŸŒοΈβ€β™‚οΈ

The Stealth line up is back for it's second year, but, does it perform or just look good. We've taken a look πŸ‘‡

Taylormade Stealth 2 Drivers

Taylormade Stealth 2 Drivers

Who is it for? The Stealth 2 driver is supposedly perfect for anyone who wants to add both distance and forgiveness to their game (everyone right πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ). Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned pro, one of the three Stealth 2 models will suit your game.

What about the tech? The Taylormade Stealth 2 driver boasts a variety of features that will make any golfer drool. It's got a carbon composite crown that saves weight and lowers the center of gravity for maximum distance and speed. Plus, the new Speed Bridge technology provides improved stability and power transfer for even more speed off of the face.

How do they look? Let's be real, everyone wants a good looking driver in the bag. And the Taylormade Stealth 2 driver is no slouch in the looks department. It's sleek and err.. stealthy. The black finish combined with the red face will be sure to turn heads!

What is performance like? Performance seems to be very good from everyone who has tested it and seems to be an improvement on last years version (Rory might not agree). However, for us it just didn't quite perform aswell as the Callaway Paradym or Ping G430.

In summary, the Stealth 2 is again an excellent driver and does seem an improvement on last years model. The worst thing about it is it's awful tag line of "Fargiveness" πŸ™ˆ

On Tour - Scottie Eases To Another Victory πŸŒοΈβ€β™€οΈ

PGA Tour

Last weekend the PGA Tour saw the Players Championship from TPC Sawgrass Regarded by many as the 5th major, it certainly didn't disappoint!

Scottie Scheffler ran out a comfortable 5 shot winner in the end, which might sound boring right? But there's just something great about watching a genius like Scheffler play.

DP World Tour

We saw the Kenya Open on the DP World Tour last week. I don't think many people will have watched too much with the Players ongoing, however, it proved a great event with Spaniard Jorge Campillo running out the winner.

That was his 3rd DP World Tour win πŸ‘

Hole Of The Week - 11th Hole, Lahinch Golf Course, County Clare, Ireland ⛳️

11th Hole Lahinch Golf Course

11th Hole Lahinch Golf Course

The 11th hole at Lahinch Golf Course is like a rollercoaster ride - it starts off exciting and then makes you want to throw up 🀒.

It's a par-4 with a blind shot over the dunes, which is about as easy as trying to teach a cat to play fetch. And if you manage to make it over the dunes, you're rewarded with a green that's as slippery as a politician's promises. But, at least you can enjoy the stunning views of the Irish coastline while you play it!
