Fore A Laugh - Would you take a club less? ๐Ÿพ

Weโ€™ve all been there. Left with an approach into the green, with something or someone behind the green making you feel a little uneasy.

Sometimes it can be people sat having a drink or just the club car park. Here however, it was a wedding reception.

Would you club down or risk that thin shot flying through the back of the green ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ˜‚

Talking Point - How Much Should You Pay For A Golf Lesson? ๐Ÿค”

As aspiring golfers seek guidance to perfect their swings and lower their scores, the price range for lessons can be as vast as the fairways themselves. We try and find the sweet spot between value and skill improvement.

The Price Paradox:

When it comes to golf lessons, the price tag doesn't always correlate with the quality of instruction. While it's tempting to believe that a higher price guarantees better results, it's essential to consider other factors before reaching for your wallet.

Value vs. Cost:

  1. Expertise Matters: While experienced instructors may charge a premium, their knowledge and ability to diagnose and correct flaws can be invaluable. However, keep in mind that teaching skills and communication style also play a significant role. Look for instructors with a track record of helping students improve, regardless of their fee.

  2. Customization is Key: Personalized attention is essential for honing your skills, but it doesn't have to break the bank. Some instructors offer affordable individual lessons or small group sessions that allow for tailored guidance within a reasonable budget. Remember, it's not always about how much you spend, but how well the instruction suits your needs.

  3. Finding the Right Fit: Compatibility with your instructor is crucial. A teacher who understands your learning style, communicates effectively, and motivates you can make a world of difference. Compatibility often transcends price, so don't be afraid to explore various options before committing to lessons.

Tailoring Lessons for Beginners:

For beginners, investing in expensive lessons may not be necessary, especially when focusing on foundational skills. Beginners often benefit from group lessons or clinics that provide a supportive and fun environment to learn the basics. These options are usually more cost-effective and can foster camaraderie among fellow golf enthusiasts.

Strike a Balance:

Consider a blended approach to golf instruction. Start with more affordable lessons to grasp the fundamentals, and as your game progresses, invest in occasional sessions with highly regarded instructors to refine your technique and address specific challenges. This way, you can strike a balance between skill improvement and financial responsibility.

Beyond Formal Lessons:

Don't underestimate the power of self-study and online resources. With the vast array of instructional videos, books, and forums available, you can supplement formal lessons with self-guided learning. Engage with the golfing community, seek advice, and experiment on the practice range to enhance your game without additional expenses.

Generally though before making any major swing change we would ALWAYS recommend getting guidance from a pro!

Conclusion:

In the realm of golf lessons, price should not be the sole determining factor. While costly lessons may offer benefits, it's important to evaluate the instructor's expertise, teaching style, and overall compatibility. For beginners, cost-effective options that emphasize the fundamentals can be highly effective. Remember, the goal is to improve your game while keeping financial considerations in mind. So, swing smart, explore different options, and find the right balance between cost and quality. With a bit of research and a passion for improvement, you can elevate your golfing journey without breaking the bank.

Equipment Round Up - Cleveland CBX Zipcore Wedges โ›ณ๏ธ

The Cleveland CBX line of wedges has been one of the most popular amongst amateur golfers for several years now. The latest version is the CBX Zipcore Tour Satin Wedges, weโ€™ve taken a look at them in more detail ๐Ÿ‘‡

Who are they for? Anyone looking for a bit more forgiveness from their wedges!

How Do They Look? So first up, CBX Wedges are cavity back. So naturally, theyโ€™re not as good looking as more traditional wedges. However, apart from that theyโ€™re quite a good looking club.

What about the sound and feel? These felt nice off the face, feeling solid from longer ranges and offering nice spin around the greens. The sound was a slight negative, with a clicky sound off of the face.

Performance? I was really impressed with these wedges and they have actually found their way into my bag. I really liked the forgiveness they offered when compared to more traditional wedges.

In conclusion, these would be a great addition to anyones bag, particularly if you are looking for more forgiveness from your wedges. Iโ€™d encourage especially higher handicappers to test them against your current wedges, Iโ€™m sure you would see improvement!

PGA Tour - Canadian Open

Nick Taylor became the first Canadian to win the Canadian Open since 1954 ๐Ÿคฏ

He beat Tommy Fleetwood on the fourth play off hole by sinking a 72 foot putt - some way to do it!!!

This wasnโ€™t even the best part - fellow Canadian PGA Tour player Adam Hadwin ran on to celebrate and got taken out by a security guard. Worth a watch ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‘‡

DP World Tour - Scandanavian Mixed

The DP World Tour saw Englishman Dale Whitnell win the Scandanavian Mixed last weekend by 3 shots.

This was his first DP World Tour Win ๐Ÿ‘

Hole Of The Week - 11th Hole, North Course, Los Angeles Country Club, USA ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

This hole is set to make some excellent viewing at the US Open this week. Itโ€™s a cool 290 yard Par 3 - thatโ€™s right, PAR 3!!!

That would take me 2 well hit shots to reach ๐Ÿ˜‚

The hole drops roughly 50 feet to a green surrounded by 3 large bunkers. To make it even better the LA skyline features directly behind the green ๐Ÿ˜
