Fore A Laugh - Broken Golf Trophy ๐ฌ
Word of advice for anyone who has ever won a golf trophy. Don't break it and put it back on display, your guests might be disgusted...

"So what did you win that trophy for?" ๐
Talking Point - Should there be more Match Play events? ๐ค
Golf has always been associated with tradition, from the way players dress to the etiquette they adhere to on the course. But as times change, so do the expectations of fans and players alike. One format that has gained popularity in recent years is match play, where golfers compete head-to-head in a bracket-style tournament.

Rahm & Fowler at the Dell World Match Play
The WGC-Dell Match Play was very popular with fans last weekend, but is this the way to go? Should there be more match play events in professional golf?
Let's start with the pros. Match play is exciting. It's unpredictable. It's the kind of golf that gets the blood pumping and the fans cheering. Instead of watching a group of golfers play against the course, we get to see them go toe-to-toe with each other. It's like a boxing match, but with clubs instead of gloves (kind of ๐คทโโ๏ธ).
Match play also allows for upsets. In stroke play, the best players usually rise to the top. But in match play, anyone can win on any given day. The number one seed could be knocked out by the 64th seed, and it wouldn't be all that surprising. It's like March Madness or the FA Cup, but for golf.
But there are cons to match play as well. For one, it can be unfair. If a player has a bad day, they could be out of the tournament before they even know what hit them. In stroke play, a player has a second round to recover from a bad day and make the cut. But in match play, it's one and done.
Another con of matchplay for the big tours is it could mean a lot of their big names don't make the weekend. This could cause a lot of fans to tune out. And if the fans aren't interested, the sponsors aren't interested. And if the sponsors aren't interested, well, you know where that leads.
So, should there be more match play events in professional golf? It's a tough call. Match play can be exciting and social, but it can also be long, unfair, and confusing. But you know what? Maybe that's just what golf needs. Maybe it needs a little bit of excitement and unpredictability. Maybe the main tours need to mix things up a bit to beat off LIV.

Equipment Round Up - Cobra Aerojet Hybrid Review ๐
We all know how popular hybrids are getting, I even played with someone who gamed a 7 hybrid last week ๐คฏ. One of the ones getting rave reviews this year is the Cobra Aerojet, so we took a closer look.

Cobra Aerojet Hybrid
Who is it for? All golfers, higher handicappers will find this a lot easier to hit than their long irons and lower handicappers will love how this club stops the ball on greens.
What about the tech? The Aerojet hybrid is available in both a standard length and a one-length option. It features the new PWR-Bridge technology that you will find across the Aerojet family of clubs. The PWR-Bridge tech is a design created to maximise ball speeds by providing optimum amounts of flexibility within the face and sole through impact.
How do they look? The crown of the club is gloss black, which isn't too my taste (I much prefer matte myself). The sole features the red, white and blue colors seen across the rest of the Aerojet family. One thing that did stand out to me is that there is noticably more weight behind the toe. This is to help fight against the typical right miss, however it would worry those who have a tendancy to turn the ball over.

What is performance like? Performance was very good when we tested it out of several different lies. The key testers across the internet tend to agree too with many reporting strong increases on the numbers from last years LTDx model.
In summary, this looks like a great option for anyone considering a new hybrid for the upcoming season. The design might not be for everyone but the performance might make up for that.

On Tour - The Match Play Final No One Wanted ๐
Dell World Match Play
The highlight last week was the WGC Dell World Match Play at Austin Country Club. Many of the big names showed up and it looked like we were set for a McIlroy v Scheffler final. To the disappointment of many, both got beat in their semi finals, leaving Sam Burns and Cameron Young in the final.Sam Burns ended up winning comfortably in the final, landing a cool $3.5 million ๐ฎโ๐จ.
PGA Tour
The PGA Tour saw a low profile event in Puerto Rico last week. Englishman Matt Wallace got his first win in 5 years and his first on the PGA Tour, finishing -19, one shot ahead of Nicolai Hรธjgaard!
DP World Tour
It was the Jonsson Workwear Open on the DP World Tour last week. German Nick Bachem ran out a 4 shot winner, ending up on -24. 4 shots clear of the rest ๐ฅ
Hole Of The Week - 6th Hole, Quivira Golf Club, Mexico โณ๏ธ

6th Hole Quivira Golf Club
Just look at it, nearly as beautiful as my wife (she reads this) ๐
This 180 yard Par 3 belongs on a postcard. The Pacific Ocean runs all up the left hand side of the hole, so if you've got a severe case of the hooks, you might want to give this one a miss. Going right isn't much more forgiving either!
